Wembley Arena17 December 1982SupportSPIDERThe Gang Mick, Paul, Scott, Phil and Me I think! It wasn’t a good turn out for Mr Gillan the place was only half full, and after the support act “Spider” we moved from the god’s down to the front of the stage, They were still on very good form.Review.At over 70 minutes you get your money’s worth here with a mix of Gillan and Deep Purple material. The band was on form with classics belting out like ‘Black Night’, ‘M.A.D.’ (where Colin Towns and Janick Gers let fly)and the Beatles cover ‘Helter Skelter’,Of course ‘Smoke On The Water’ is here and it’s time for Gillan to employ a series of bizarre vocal sounds! Interesting to speculate what the band would have done had Gillan not disbanded the group. (Review from www.angelair.co.uk)Set ListWhat’s The MatterBluesy Blue SeaBlack NightTroubleBorn To KillM.A.D. MK drug squad detective, and he was not on duty just came to see the Band. They also turned up at Reading earlier in the year and were on duty that time! (see Reading 82)One of us was arrested at the MK Thin Lizzy festival for having a quarter of puff!!Also saw him at Reading 1981 and Donnington 1982
